So I’ve come over to the Dark Side…

Yeah, yesterday for three hours I tried snowboarding. It was a lot harder than I thought! Fortunately Chris Degnan (a designer at Relic) also came up with us for the day to Whistler and gave me a lesson. He was a really good teacher and I learned a lot.

Here’s a funny video of me noobing it up at Whistler on a snowboard for the first time ever! (I’m so sorry Skiing, I’ll have to forsake you for now…)

  7. Buggo Says:

    Which merchandise? :)

  8. t0rrentist Says:

hrhr…well I could think of plenty of things tbh!

As a starter a T-shirt with a huge smile on it and a sunflower for all the zest of life you portray via the shoutcast (voice)…
or how about a CD with Buggo`s finest gaming soundtracks from Relic games? Already CoH`s main theme would be a seller by itself :)

Think of it, considering your immense popularity status there should be a life-sized Buggo blow-up for every serious gamer`s household available :D

…or shall we just stick to the snowboarder`s Buggo-Kneepads?

let`s ponder that for now :P

Haha buggo, ive never snowboarded before, i want to tho.. is it that hard? (i know how to wake board and ski..)

  10. Buggo Says:

If you know how to wake board especially, you should find yourself a natural at it. The edging is similar. And knowing how to ski helped me a LOT… just understanding the snow, edging, etc.

I love it… it’s really hard… I’m not necessarily converted over from skiing just yet, but I’m having a blast with snowboarding. I went out and bought a board :)

    So yeah, TRY IT!

  11. Dark_Axel Says:

Yeah, a background of skiing, or wakeboarding helps a lot…

Anyway, now you have tried, how do you feel about the difference of opinions about safety between skiers and snowboarders.

I personally do some snowboarding and skiing (snowblades = short skies).
And the only trouble is that people with little experience of snowboarding just need the extra room. Since they don’t have much control over it.
Otherwise things are just fine, untill you go extreme carving ;)

BTW, Allie, in the video you stand a bit to much on the rear, and you use your body as momentum for a turn. I hope that’s improving a lot…

    On a side note;
Yeah, we need a Relic meetup in Europe. Just place it during the winter at the alps. Switzerland is good, I really loved the Berner Oberland Region.
