Piece of Relic art chosen for “Into the Pixel” Exhibition!
We have an amazing artist here at Relic, Cheol Lee… and I’m happy and proud to announce that one of his pieces of art was chosen for the 2007 “Into the Pixel” exhibition. In total there were 260 pieces of art submitted from all around the globe, and out of that field a final 16 were chosen. It’s also the first time Relic has ever had a piece in the exhibition.

Congratulations Lee!

I read this today, very good job and the picture is excellent next to its peers.
I agree that more concept artwork would be great to see (although I suppose Relic wouldn’t hold copyright rights on non-Relic owned IP or something, making it harder to post).

A bit dramatic even for a space marine, but the art itself kicks ass. Congrats!

Space Marines are human after all. They just have the training / strength of will to separate themselves from emotions that would slow down a normal soldier. This does not mean that drama is non-existent in a Space Marines’ life; hell, look at all the other art depicting them.
Great work, Lee. I hope to see more!

Another note, looks as if he’s shagged out after a brawl; his power-pack is missing and his broken sword are the two most obvious indicators.

I downloaded it for my desktop background a few days back and can’t stop looking at it. What a great piece of art.
Is this perchance for something new relic is working on?

Its a very nice peice of work. can anyone tell me if it was scratch made. it seems that the same outcome could be made by using a render, some brushes, some blending and doing some manip to a city stock. in simpler terms was the guy with the sword made by him or did he just borrow it.
