I own the original company of heroes and just bought OF. I just spent 3 hours installing the game, downloading patches, and trying to reset my account but it will not let me. I can't believe how retarded the whole process is what the hell was Relic thinking.

So just wondering if two players would be able to login at the same time but play skirmish or campaigns not multiplayer on one account?

I bought the COH Gold edition today and the register key says its already in use, meaning, now its after 7pm, i cant call for a new one on the help line? Was really looking forward to playing tonight and after spending nearly an hour downloading the 2 patches it all ended up for nothing.

Very frustrated!!!

Hello guys!

You seem to know a lot about Steam and their issues. Please help me. I live in Sweden, and i have bought both COH and OF. Love ém both. BUT my friend and I tried to LAN at my home the other night. He has his OWN copy that he bought in a store, and i have bought from Steam.

The problem is that i cant start the game with the internet down (i have to have LAN-cable instead of internet!). What on earth can i possibly do???? I didnt find the answer above, so please help! THQ never answers anything. They suck at customer-service.

Thanks!

When the original COH came out, I recommended the game to my friends for its innovative gameplay. It was a great game to play at LANs because of its hassle-free DRM, and many of my friends purchased it later to play online.
I was shocked when this latest installment required me to login to relic and forced me to patch on my first load. Shouldn't users have the option to run whichever version of the game they choose? I can't even load my old CoH without going through the relic login. It feels like this new DRM is a step backwards in usability, and I will not be recommending this game to anyone as long as this abusive copy protection is around. People are better off downloading an illegal version than putting up with this headache.

Get real .... what a selfish stupid thing to do ... restrict lan playing to having to buy 2-3 games of the same !!!! That did not have to be done .... I asked 2 programmers at our company ... it's a selfish .... blood / money sucking way they wrote the game installation and don't let them lie to you ! They said all that will do is drive people to the pirated versions that can at the moment be installed and played !!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, I cannot provide tech support through my blog. You must contact THQ tech support for all your issues. My recommendation is to call THQ USA since they are best equipped to handle these kind of issues, however all THQ tech support lines should be able to help you.

Phoning is definitely a better option over e-mail.

Thanks!
