1.71 if you have the latest version of coh installed and 1.4 if you only have patch 1.4 installed (should be noone unless you re installed/ just bought vcoh)

so i tried to install the patch and it aborted itself because he couldn´t find COH installed….rofl
Maybe depending on the different version (German version/english patch).
Relic when you release a patch then it should be a multilingual patch for every version……not everyone has an english version!!!!
So i have to wait until tomorrow and download the patch again for the german version, good bless i have 1.6 MB line!!!!

i have a problem with a patch. i have vcoh and isnatlle the 1.77 to 2.101 patch to try new maps out. however, when i get into the game there is activation menu. so i select that i have retail dvd. but it does nothing, it says i havent inserted it. so what now, i cant even play skirmish. i hope that when servers go up tomor i will eb able to play it. if not, then i need help pls

I too am getting cannot find error. Have thread started in forums. Im in US us version installed and fully updated only thin is I have it installed to the root of a partition labled “”games”. This is how I have all my games installed. I actually think the hard programed in c:\program files\ as the install location and if not there it won’t install. mine is e:\Company of Heroes\

its only the staff ( well a very few them ) are telling this either because they wanna get rid of you quickly… or they don’t want to explain you that they store won’t make a special delivery for a single game. and that around the xx October however there is a freighter coming and OF should be in too.

Won’t work at the moment! The size of the German patch on the server is just too small (the french patch on the server is 1.84GB for example). And the links to the non-English patches haven’t been announced officially yet. At the moment it might be best to wait for the official non-English patch links or for the COH auto-updater.

Do you have any mods installed? (including hot key mods) If so, the patch will not work!
Try uninstalling Company of Heroes completely, installing it again. And then applying the patch.

No mods, just a german installation of vCoH v1.71 , nothing modded/changed. The patch I downloaded is 1,66 GB (1.783.432.867 Bytes)

The German patch from v1.71 has not been officially announced and the version available from the THQ site doesn’t seem to work (it crashes).
But I saw that a German patch for v1.00->2.1 has been released on gamershell.com with a size of 1.72GB. And there is also a v1.00->2.1 patch available on the THQ site with the filename DE_100_2101_Patch.exe . Maybe Buggo can confirm that this is an official version?

Hey Buggo, just one suggestion/plea, could Relic use some less vague time reference when announcing larger events (like server downtime for this new patch is). I mean, 24th september is a very flexible notion considering the fact that you have players from all around the world… e.g. “morning hours of 24th september (Vancouver time)” would be a much better reference for us all

My internet-connection have a limitation on downloading. Is there any options of buying this patch in EU on a DVD ?
I am planning to buy OF but this patch is really big. My connection gets 40kb/s evening time (Sweden). But I don’t even wanna think of those poor guys on more isolated countries.

I have vCoH via steam, and downloaded the 1.71-2.101 platch, but upon execution it informs me that there is not a complete version of CoH found. I have tried putting the patch in the Steam/CoH folder but still no luck. Any Ideas?

i realy dont undestand why i cant play skirmish. i mean, ive tried reisntalling 2 times already, first from 1.77 coh to 2.101 of patch, then 1.4 coh to 2.101 of. its always the same, insert the cd and i have my dvd already in and its liek it doesnt recongnise it. i cant go to skirmish then. im not realy willing to reisntall again, the thign takes more than 1 hour to install not counting that i waited 3h to download all patches. yay…..

EL Furreto: They indeed had the date wrong but thats the fault of THQ, the distributer who supplied the game, and not the retailer.
Relic: I think you need to hire some (more, perhaps?) QA testers. An error such as this 1014 for a release is an absolute disgrace no matter which way you look at it.

Hi, I have the steam version of CoH, english. I live in Ukraine and just finished downloading the patch via my mobile phone connection (10kb/sec, took 55 hours, and was QUITE expensive).
Now its telling me I dont have a full valid installation of CoH, error code 10260. And that I should try reinstalling.
So, you want me to download the entire game again over my 10kb/sec connection just to see if it works??
This is rediculous, and speaks volumes about the quality of relic products. Get it fixed ASAP without me having to download another few gigabytes!!!

For some reason the patch is broken and is looking in the wrong place for the install info in the registry.
If you don’t believe be try it yourself and run regmon while you try and install it. Regmon will show you the reg keys it accesses and the info that it recieves. One of which is c:\Company of Heroes dir. Change yours to that and it will work.
Buggo. I think you need to whip the your bosses that pushed this out so fast without proper checking.

Now, how do I do that? I tryed manually copying the “C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes” directory to “c:\company of heroes”, it didnt work, same error.

Use regmon to check which dir the patch is looking for.

For mine it said “C:\Company of Heroes”. I am not 100% sure if its case senstive either. Mine was “C:\Company of Heroes” exactly (Capital C , capital H, lowercase o).

I have the same “internal check” problem with 1.40-2.101 patch. I wanted to take no chances, and I uninstalled/deleted CoH and OF Beta, deleted the directories, and then applied the patches. The 1.0 - 1.4 patches are pristine, they worked a lot of times before; the 1.8g 2.101 patch goes about halfway and then gives me an error, removing CoH in the process. Highly unnerving.

Hi everyone, some of you have downloaded the international versions (German, etc) of the patches by just changing the filenames. Some of you may have downloaded files that weren’t finished uploading yet and that could explain some of the errors.
Also you want to make sure that when you are applying the patches that there are no instances of CoH/OF running. You can CTRL-ALT-DEL to check your task manager to make sure they are all closed and not running.

Sorry to keep at it but is there still no solution to the steam issue. Steam users paid money for the game just as those who purchased a hard copy did. It seems strange that the support has not been included for a large portion of the gamers. Is this an issue relic is able to fix or do I need to direct my complaints to steam?

Seriously 1.8 gig?! I choked when i noticed the patch i had to download, wouldnt it have been better to divide them into smaller chunks so i actually could play sometime this week. To download 100megs is fine, so why not a new patch everyday instead of this? I have broadband connection at 24mbs so it shouldnt take to long(i thought) 2 hours after i started the dl its only at 10%done

Buggo, regarding MODS… The only MOD I installed was the Advanced AI MOD. Should I remove it before installing OF? Also, I tinkered with a module file for the German language pack so that the Germans actually spoke German, does this mean i have to re-install vCoH?

Any kind of contact on the steam issue would be very much appreciated. What really is getting on my nerves is the complete lack of communication from either Steam, Relic or THQ. It isn’t really enough to say that the patch will be out “soon”, as that could mean anything from tomorrow until 3 weeks from now. Please can someone just tell us when we can expect it. Its hard to be patient when one doesn’t know how long one has to be patient for.

I have downloaded twice now the 1.40 -2.101 & 1.71 -2.101 both failed with 10104 error on my Vista 64 OS, and whats worse is it leaves the game in a crippled state.
I was playing CoH fine a few days ago you’ve killed it, 1.7GB patch?? who in their right minds thought that was a good idea, it takes like 4+ hours to download then fails to install.
Sort it or rollback, please.

I have made in interesting discovery which I thought I’d share. I have 2 PC’s one based on Vista64 with an NV8800 GPU, one based on XP with an Ati X800 GPU.
Both have or had a fully working CoH v1.71 installed from the same media purchased in UK. I don’t have nor intend to get OF.
I can take the same patch EN_1.71_2101_Patch.exe (downloaded from my laptop) copy it to both PC’s…. The XP instance patches OK, the Vista64 instance despite several clean installs (and successful patches up to either v1.40 or v1.71) does NOT complete ok and leaves an empty CoH folder on the harddisk after it fails. It doesn’t like ..\WW2\Archives\WW2Art.sga error code 10104 always the same whether its v1.71->2.101 (like my patched XP PC) or v1.40->2.101
You might want to see if you can repeat this yourself, as far as I can see there is definately a problem with your patch.
At least I can play on my 2nd PC now whilst you try and figure this out.

Bought the game COH opposing fronts, installed and askd for a patch. Cant patch as when I try it times out and then the only option is to exit to windows. WHAT A LOAD OF S***E.
