Founded in 1997 and acquired by THQ in 2004, Relic Entertainment is a leader in the development of innovative games for PC and console. Relic’s first title, “Homeworld” (1999), was received to widespread acclaim, garnering several “Game of the Year” and “Strategy Game of the Year” awards from major industry publications including PC Gamer and Computer Gaming World. Following on the success of “Homeworld,” Relic released “Homeworld: Cataclysm” (2000, co-developed with Barking Dog Studios), “Impossible Creatures” (2003), “Homeworld 2″ (2003), “Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War” (2004), winner of numerous accolades including “Strategy Game of the Year” from Computer Gaming World, and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Winter Assault (2005). Relic began 2006 with their next generation console debut, releasing “The Outfit” for Xbox 360, and have since released two of the most critically acclaimed PC titles this year. “Company of Heroes, ” (August 2006) is the highest rated Real Time Strategy game ever made and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade (October 2006) significantly advance the award winning Dawn of War franchise. Today, Relic is building on its legacy by developing multiple groundbreaking Windows PC and next-gen console projects in the RTS and action genres.
